Race Day Info Information - This Saturday - June 19, 2010

NEW VENUE – Town Point Park, Norfolk (Waterside Dr.)

Race Venue:  all activities for the 2010 RunWalk for the Kids will begin at the new race venue, Town Point Park, Waterside Drive, Norfolk.  At the venue you will find:

  1. Registration
  2. First Aid
  3. Vendor Booths
  4. Refreshments
  5. Port-a-potties
  6. Kids Activities
  7. Start and Finish Lines

Parking:  A parking map to all downtown Norfolk Parking garages is provided below.  While there is plenty of parking in the City Garages, please arrive early to avoid lines and bottle necks. Recommend arriving no later than 6:30am to avoid delays!

  • Race timing:  Only the 8K Run will be officially timed and only that event will require a chip (to be returned at the finish line)  The 2-mile walk and 1-mile fun run will not be timed, but clocks will be available at the finish line.

    •  

    Event start times: 

    1. 7:28am - 8K Run for Team Hoyt/Jogging Stroller/Wheelchairs
      2. (All MUST remain in single file for the duration of the race). 
    2. 7:30am - 8K runners 
    3. 7:32am - 2-mile walk
    4. 9:00am - 1-mile fun run

    Pledges and Donations:   pledges and donations that you or your team has collected can be turned in on race day beginning at 6:30am at the Pledges/Donations table. 

     

    Awards:  Race results will be posted following the 8K, and age group awards (provided by Running, Etc. and New Balance) will be given for top finishers starting at 8:45am.  Any race awards not picked up the morning of the race will be mailed to the award winner. Awards will also be given to the team with the most participants as of June 7, 2010. The team that raised/donated the most funds to CHKD will be notified within a week of the event.
